Still Life Journeys series
Tomatoes & Daisies explores the tomato as an offering, a simple gift from the garden, associated with generosity, friendship, and the abundance of the earth. Groups of vividly painted tomatoes are arranged across a patterned tabletop, their forms built through energetic layers of color and expressive brushwork.
Above and below the central still life, decorative borders combine hands holding tomatoes with strips of Maine maps, bringing together gestures of giving and receiving with a sense of place. The daisies introduce another element of garden abundance, their delicate forms contrasting with the weight and intensity of the tomatoes.
The resulting composition is colorful and vibrant, bringing together food, landscape, human connection, and the generosity of giving.
